BN2 Boot Lid

Has anyone had luck with the Moss alloy trunk lid ? I would prefer steel, but haven't been able to locate a good usable, or repairable one. .. any suggestions. .?? Thanks

The boot lid was the only significant part missing from my BN2 project when I brought it home years ago. I had a heck of a time finding one but finally did. Mine came from Bill Bolton and I'm recalling he gave me a choice between two and different prices depending. I do not know if he is still in business. I seriously doubt you will easily find one that simply needs to be stripped and painted. Most have the standard crack at the strut mounting point ( as mine did) but you have to figure if someone is parting out a car the boot lid is a prime suspect for all kinds of damage. You might try British Car Specialists in Stockton, CA. Maybe depending on the price for the aluminum unit you could buy one of those amazingly rusted out 100's you see on ebay once in a while and end up with a salvageable boot lid. Sorry not much help here.

Call Healey Surgeons..they will be honest on the fit of theirs, if they stock them.. or they might have a used one..
 
Thanks for the advice, and the contacts... I have two different, two seat lids..,both very nice.. may just section the mint one...I know metal work,...just don't like working with aluminum. .... Thanks again...!!!
