Hi I am going planning to fit a 649 cam to my mini mk1 cooper s what would be the best crown wheel & pinion ratio to use for fast road use.

Regards

Not an expert but I have a 289 cam in my mini. 1380, dyno about 95-98 hp. I have a 2.9 and that is not high enough at times. perfect around town and on the freeway but in the hills, a little more of the power would be nice. You can still accelerate in 4th gear, but slowly. I have not driven a stock mini though.
