Hello,
My TR6 will be in a carport for the next year while I am waiting for my shop to be built. There is a lot of moisture in the air where I live, and I need something heavier to protect it from the elements. Most of what I could find is cheap one size fits all covers. Anyone bought one they were happy with, and can you tell me where you bought it?
thanks, Kevin

Just a thought: keeping a car closed up under cover for a year will lead to more problems than you may realize. Moisture builds up inside, there's no air movement, rust and mold have a hey-day.

What elements do you want to protect the TR6 from?

Mainly just moisture in the air.

Thanks. If you're keeping the car under wraps for a year, one thing you don't want is to "seal in" moisture, especially in a humid climate. Air needs to circulate, to prevent corrosion, mold, and mildew. One possibility: a pressurized "cocoon", which removes moisture from the air and keeps it circulating. Expensive, but safely does what you're looking for.

In your situation (if you are just storing and not driving the car) I would be looking for indoor storage - i.e. a dry unheated garage.

Storage units are possibly more than you want to pay (though I have used them) but finding an unused spot in a private garage may be more affordable. Retirement communities are one possibility as there will be widows with 2-car garages sitting half-empty. I have personally hooked up three club members which such situations for storing some of there 'extra' British cars.

While car covers are meant to protect your car's paint, they can do damage, as well. The reason it's so important to get the correct fitting cover is that if the car cover moves or even flies off the car with a big gust of wind, then it's possible for any metal grommets that on the car cover to scratch the car. Some tips for car storage. Put dryer sheets in all spaces back front glove box seats near wires 12 sheets any place trunk. They are said to keep mice out. I recently removed seats from a GT 6 TR mice had made a home inside the seats. Tires off the ground full or empty fuel tank gas additive. no battery. even remove carpets .A light bulb may keep down moisture. Good venting I made this for my TR 6 it is water proof outside chair seats mat from on line supply $ 10.00 a yard 60 inches wide, sides are vented.. Hood holds front down by flap Keeps inside clean with out top up or hard top on. I could have made it bigger but the paint does a good job on it's own.
