Emmanuel Mensah was an immigrant from Ghana, and a private in the National Guard of the United States. He became a naturalized United States citizen on 21 September, 2017.
Three months later, he lost his life on 28 December 2017, after saving the lives of multiple neighbors during that horrible apartment fire in the Bronx.
