BAt is an odd place to sell a car......put my 73 e-type a solid #2 car , low miles silver with blue leather interior for sale ..only hit 63,000 with commission.. 4 months later an ugly brown high miles car with many needs went for $84,000.

Go figure.....I still have mine so I am the WINNER....

IMO the price was HIGH as was the Austin Healey 3000 at Barrett jackson.. I was there and shocked at the needs of the car and the price...

So the lesson to be learned is you gotta have luck and timing is important!

Yep it was...said leather..but I have never seen leather like that before,\\...Had it pegged at $55,000.....


But remember it was an auction.. Bid on 3 cars..finished 2nd twice..but was on TV for an extended period of time.. Maybe Velocity will give me my own show!!!! "Classic Car Auction Loser"....

A lot of maturity in these posts, Sir Stirling once called the Etype the dumb blond of sports cars, bought mine thirty years ago and Sir Stirling was correct, in fact, soon after purchase took to the old Dr. Jaguar in Costa Mesa CA since it road so soft, he said "nope that is just the way they are." However all is made up for by the dumb blondes whose pleasure I enjoyed, as Henry Manney (the Shakespeare of motoring writers) said "the greatest crumpet collector known to man."
