For many years I've had a three-tier Craftsman tool chest which served me well for years. However, over time I have accumulated more and more tools and as a result had out grown the Craftsman tool chest. So, yesterday I purchased a new Husky tool chest from Home Depot. This thing has tons more storage space and I'm able to separate the tools out much better within the drawers. Here's a pic of the new tool chest, alongside my old Craftsman. The Craftsman I just gave to a good friend who, over the years, has allowed me to borrow his pickup truck more times than I can remember. He didn't have a chest like this, so he was very happy to get this at no charge.

I'm still using the Craftsman 3 drawer that I bought about 50 years ago, all filled with original tools, mostly SK, Snap-On, Craftsman, Dunlop, Irwin wooden handled screwdrivers, ancient simple torque wrench, even older ring compressor that I'll never use, tap and die sets, etc., etc. I dread moving to a smaller condo or apartment.
 
Good for you, Basil! No more digging thru tools you don't want, to find the one you do. There are three Snap-On boxes here. One main box referred to as the "Red Amana" and two roll cabs side by side to make a good workbench on top.

I try to keep everything in a specific spot, a habit so ingrained that when I last moved the big one and the drawers containing screwdrivers and files were juxtaposed by 'helpful' friends, every time I went for a screwstick I'd open the one containing the files first... I attempted to adapt but it bugged me so much I had to put them back into their "proper" respective positions.

In total sympathy here! I believe that'd be impossible in my case.


 
Looks great! Now is that one of the fancy schmancy ones with fridge and bluetooth and USB etc?

Don't worry, you won't hate me for long. I usually do an annual garage cleaning and it looks great - for a while. It won't take long before it looks like a tornado went through.

So now you can buy even more tools. Hmm, I wonder how long it will be before you start wishing you had kept the old Craftsman stack too.
 
Very nice!! Enjoy it, and like already said, I presume you will miss the old tool chest. Storage as a way of filling up!
 
Good box, when i finally retire and settle down im going to use a bunch of the harbor freighht 70 inch long boxes as a wall type tool storage and put a good top the length of them.

That's what I've done with the two Snap-On KR657B cabs, handles removed, plywood across the two. Each is 33" wide, 24" deep:

In a one car garage, it works well.

Now Basil has to start adding "personal" touches:
