Oh! Are you having the little fellow shipped when he's old enough?

Glad to hear the news. What breed?

Mark, my wife will fly out at christmas and pick up

Elliot, Same as before . Australian shepherd. Red Merle

Australian Shepard. Beautiful, interesting dog! This caught my attention from Wikipedia: " ...they are often called "Velcro dogs" for their strong desire to always be near their owners and for their tendency to form intense, devoted bonds with select people."

Sounds amazingly wonderful. Enjoy!!!

(I am a dog person living vicariously through others. My work schedule is such that it would be unfair to the dog for me to own one; I could not give a dog the time and dedication required. Instead I have fish - they don't mind being fed by a timer!)

Mike , when we were first training our last one to walk with us we couldn't keep him at our side. He was constantly going from side to side and behind us.
Drove us nuts...till we figured out he was just doing his job.
Herding us

Neat. We had friends fly from Portland to, was it, Arkansas to a breeder for their Scottie.
I presume that by Christmas the little one will be maybe 10 weeks old? Good time/age to collect.

Got a name picked out Don?
Since you have a Brit. car maybe name him
Prince of Barkness?

Just joined you this morning -- we put our Zora down. She was 16 years, 2 months and 3 days old. She had a really good run. We thought she was done for several times over the past few years, but she always rallied. There was just no fight left in her this time around. It was hands down the right decision, her heart stopped before the vet even could administer the entire dose of the drug. Still hurts. We have her half-sibling Zeke who is just shy of 15 1/2. He's actually pretty spry for an old dog and remains convinced that all cats are part of an ISIS sleeper cell. Here's Zora:

Condolences, but as you say, a good run.

This thread is making me want to go get a puppy! At one time, just a few years ago, we had a German Shepherd, and Boxer and a Jack Russell (all at the same time). The Shepherd was the first to go, followed by the Boxer and finally the Jack Russell. (We didn't set out to have 3 dogs - it just sort of happened). We've been sans dog for a couple years now, but have been talking about another one (ONE).

Still haven't agreed upon a name yet
But cuter than the dickins
