Telepathic?

When I was a teenager I was with my dad at the beach. My dad noticed that his expensive watch had come off his wrist in heavy surf. A few moments later a large wave literally threw his watch onto the beach. We both looked at each other in amazement. I'll never forget that.

The second ring I've managed to keep on my finger for 42 years.

Mrs JP Gave me a different ring for our 20th. when we went to Europe to host a trip to Oberammergau in 2000 we were in Montreaux (Staying at the Grand Hotel for you Grand Funk Fans) and, at street level there was a jewellery store that had amazing men's rings - Stainless and Titanium - some with diamonds that slid in a slot and others where the ring is cut and the diamond held in tension between the two edges of the ring. Of course I talked myself out of buying it and it was in 2004 - in Orlando that we found the ring at a show and this time it were purchased - so, not Stainless Steel with a diamond in tension between the two edges of the ring (if that makes sense).

Elliot, what kind of watch?

Speaking of watches I thought I would get this one in...

Many, many years ago, OK 1994, I lost my watch. My wonderfull wife took it on herself to buy me a new one. A few months later it stopped working so she took it back to the shop. They told her they would have to send it away to be fixed and it would take several weeks. Now this was a problem as we were about to move homes and our new house was 200 miles away. Don't worry they said. We will mail it to you insured delivery when we get it back. The weeks went by in silence until my wife decided to chase it up. They had sent it weeks before and it had not arrived. So as the Post Office had no delivery receipt we got our money back and I was able to buy another new watch. A week or two later I found my old watch down the back of our Sofa (why hadn't I looked there before?). Our story doesn't end there. A few weeks after that I found a battered and rain sodden parcel on my doorstep with a mesage scribbled on it to the effect - 'found this at the side of the road - looks like your address'. Inside was my repaired watch!

(Note : Age has addled the memory, I may not have bought a new watch with the insurance money - can't quite remember now but the story is basically true!)

About 5 or 6 years ago someone broke into my car. The stole some credit cards and a watch that my dad had given me. My credit cards were replaced but I was upset about losing my watch. I posted "want ads" on eBay hoping to find someone selling MY watch ( I had photos of serial number). No luck finding it until about 7 months later....
I was mowing the lawn when I noticed something shiny in the bushes. Yes, it was my watch; the thief threw it in the bushes! It survived the entire time outside since it was a SCUBA watch and quite waterproof.

I knew you were going to say that.

Just an FYI, we do have a "Reply with Quote function " :wink-new:

I already knew that - it came to me in a dream.

I seem to recall being told this before; at this point I have copy and pasted for twelve years and am pretty set in my ways.
