Well yesterday was spent sorting and organizing parts for the GT. I must say I am surprised at how few parts are left to be attached - time to get on with it!
Today I got the gas tank out and proceeded to remove the sender. Tank looks OK - will need some cleaning but no residue or cr*p on the bottom.
Needless to say the sender is not so clean but we are hatching a plan.
Anyways the sender was held in place with 6 screws - not bolts - took a bit to figure that out as there was lots of mud etc on the outside. The last screw was binding a bit so I pryed it just a bit and of course it flipped into the universe.
- got out the 400 watt shop light - a very useful bit of kit I might add and started looking. Found quite a lot of screws nuts and nails under the workbench as well as various other bits of everything but no screw. Took stuff off the shelves, shook the boxes - everything. Finally realized it wasn't there, got up only to realize the screw was embedded in the bottom foam pad I was kneeling on! (and yes I did check to make sure the space was clear before I put the pad down)
story of my life right there - but all screws accounted for (and I found the washer too!)
