TR4/4A Top Frame Paint Recs

I know the top frame on my TR4 is kind of an off white/tan color and I'm looking for recommendations on what paint some of you actually used to respray yours. I'm going to be getting the natural color webbing from TRF and reusing my caps and screws but obviously want to paint the frame first. Any recommendations on over the counter spray paints? I'm betting the top will be down 90% of the time so I'm not too concerned with it coming out imperfect. Thanks.

Attached pic as how the car sits as of last weekend. Tub finally on frame.

Nice car - congratulations on getting the body on the frame!!

I'm planning the same as Rut - tan rustoleum.

HAHAHA...yeah I was walking thru the local Orchard Supply and checking out all the different tan colors. But just wanted to see if someone on here had really went thru the trouble to get THE closest color to stock already. But Rustoleum tan works for me!

Thanks for all the compliments! It's been a long process. I'm sure the purists will notice my car is TRG (Conifer) and not BRG like it was supposed to be painted due to my early commission number. But I'm liking the lighter color.

Beautiful job Gary ... mine's still at the painter ... can't wait!

Should it be BRG or Conifer? (And which shade of BRG?) I thought Conifer was the "concurs-correct" color, no?

Not for Triumph TR4's pre 20XXX or something like that. Early TR4's were BRG and you can see it in this picture. Later TR4's after 20XXX were Triumph Racing Green (aka Conifer). At least that's what Piggets book says and unfortunately we caught it too late. As you can see mine was originally a darker green. Not Jaguar dark...but darker. Oh well!

I have a TR4a thats in the lineup to be done soon, hopefully this spring. It still has original paint which is conifer green. Not to wild about green but it is such a original car that I have to repaint correct green.

Yeah, most of my car is original as well...hence why I wanted to go back to the original BRG instead of the red my sis and I always knew it as growing up. Either way it'll be fun to cruise around.
