There is - most of my pics were taken on the way there and on the way back. Not a lot of pictures of the town itself. (Maybe next trip).
 
Back in the '70's, I use to go to the horse races at Ruidoso Downs.

I'll try to make it short. I enlisted in the AF in 72. After several yrs enlisted, I was accepted for a program wherein the AF would send me to school to finish my EE degree, then to OTS to be commissioned. I wanted to get a school in Denver since that's where my parents were, but there were no schools with ROTC detachments that had any slots. The closest to home I could get at the time was UNM, in Albuquerque, so that's where I went. After I graduated in 82 and was commissioned, we went all over the place, but always wanted to get back to NM because we loved it here - decent weather, lovely landscapes, etc. Anyway, it wasn't until my last AF assignment that I was finally able to get back to NM - stationed at Kirkland AFB doing operational testing on certain military systems. So, this is where I was then when I retired (as Major) January 97. Since we knew we liked it hear and had lots of friends, etc., we bought our house just before I retired and have been here ever since.
