Overdrive slow to disengage

Underneath the plug/cap on the top RH side of the overdrive, there is the operating valve. It has a bleed off orifice that can be enlarged slightly; maybe in one of my old posts, you can find what size the hole is, and what I enlarged it too, but I don't remember off the top of my head. If you have the trans tunnel off, it's a breeze to get to, even easier than the solenoid.

It's possible that your existing operating valve may be partially blocked by some foreign particle, so I'd start by cleaning it out good.

So is it correct to say that it should shift out of OD fairly quickly and not seem as though it is slowly slipping out?
