Looking for a few AOL users

When I moved to the new server, I was assigned a new IP address for the server. While this new IP does not show up on any "black lists" it seems AOL is blocking my new IP address (not for anything I did). This means, if someone with an AOL account registers, they won't get the email to confirm their account.

If any of you have AOL accounts, please use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page, and fill in the forum to send me a test message. Then, I'll reply and see if you get my reply. Let me know in this thread if you sent me an email from the Contact forum.

Thanks!
Basil

I don't use AOL, but I understand the latest version of AOL has a solution for this problem should it arise. As I was told, AOL blocks everything, but is controllable. PJ

Basil,
I'm still getting thru.
Marv

I'm not sure what you mean. The problem isn't you getting through to me - it's me getting through to YOU. I received an email from you via the contact list. I replied to you using my @Britishcarforum account. Did you receive my reply to your email?

Basil

Your reply was received @ 10:33, Basil

I sent you another reply after that (answering your question about whether you needed to post in the forum). Did you get that second reply from me?

Well, it looks like AOL at least has taken some action on my new IP address. Yesterday, when I checked my IP reputation from their online IP checking tool, it listed my new IP as having a "Bad" reputation (which means they were blocking any outgoing emails). Now, as you can see from attached screen shot, my reputation is "Undisclosed". As it states - THEY know what the reputation is, but they are keeping it a secret for the time being. (Weird, I know). Well, seems my emails are getting though and I suspect that after some "prohibition" period it will reflect a "good" reputation. (I hope)

Funny thing is, they have not contacted me with any updates to my status.

The Healey mailing list has had problems with AOL for years. Most of the users there have gone to other, less fossilized forms of email.

Basil - what a headache!

What is/was the reason they put your new IP on their "bad" list in the first place? Was that IP on their "bad" list before you got it?

Maybe better if you PM me.

Thanks.
Tom M.

Yes, it was on the list before I had it.

From inception AOL, IMHO, has been "Evil and Wrong!"

Even a change to a google mail account would be a better choice.

Basil, I did not receive the second email to my AOL account either. Did you sent it to {deleted}? Rob

Yep, that's the address. Weird that some of the AOL folks are getting my emails but not you. I'll try again in a few days. By the way, I've deleted your actual email address from this thread - for your own protection - spam bots will harvest it.
