TR2/3/3A Head light trim

So I got my head light trim parts re-plated awhile back. Two of the mounting tabs are fixed in place with rivets. When I mount the rims one of those rivet heads is dead center on the top of the rim, for all and sundry to see. I really feel that they ruin the smoothness and the appearance of the headlight assembly. Are yours like that? Do I have to live with the anti-tranquility of the whole assembly because of a 1/16" rivet head marring the appearance?

Your thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Tinkerman

I like the rivet (brass I think) as it shows it is an original. As I recall some repros omit the rivet but still have a bump there possibly symbolizing a missing rivet.

Isn't that rivet or bump there to aid in lining up the connectors?

That rivet is fixing a tab on the underside that holds the top of the rim in place.

OK, guess I'll ignore the little bumps.

Thanks, Tinkerman
