So, the roofer finally showed up just now - and the shingles were dropped off earlier today. Unfortunately they were dropped off on the roof of the house across the street.

Bloody unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Might as well do theirs too. :p

That homeowner has a bad case of shingles.

Your neighbors will appreciate their new roof! LOL

About 10? years ago, we had a huge storm that blew off half the shingles from our roof. The insurance company was going to pay to have them replaced, but we decided to pay the difference and had a metal roof installed (looks like regular shingles but they are actually granite-coated metal interlocking with a lifetime warranty).

I'm going metal next time for sure.

Basil - I'm thinking (!) of the same thing for next year. After ten years, how do you feel about your metal roofing? Any negatives, other than cost? They seem to be at least double the cost of standard shingles.

Best investment I could have made for the home. Still looks like new snd have not had to worry at all about shingles blowing off.

Quick update - new shingles arrived today - wrong colour
