Replacement Water pump issue

Hey gang,

I just replaced my water pump with a new Victoria British unit, but it has introduced some fitment issues with my 6 blade plastic fan. It's a 1275 with a bugeye single channel pulley. The Pulley flange on the new pump sits a full 1/8" closer to the engine than the old one, and now the fan blades brush against the oil separator. The flange does appear to sit pretty far down on the shaft compared to some pictures I've seen online, and on the old one the shaft doesn't even reach the end of the flange.

Does anyone have a water pump laying around that they wouldn't mind measuring along from the back to the mating surface of the flange? I get 3-5/8" on the new and 3-3/4" on the old. The new one could be correct, but if so, I need to figure out how to clear my fan from the separator.

there are some pic's here... https://imgur.com/a/1p2eh

thanks!

I yanked my old water pump off the parts pile and I got 3 3/4". I recall having fitment issues with the pulley, but it eventually settled. Could you put 1/8" washers on the flange to move the pulley forward?

Edit: My car is a '69 Sprite IV, with the original 1275.

Pretty sure there are two different pumps for two different blocks. Someone will come along who knows 1275's better than me.

Thanks for checking! I think fabricating a spacer out of a big washer will be my plan.

Ah! I had already made a spacer by the time I saw your post, but it's good to know they're out there. Thanks.
