Ever hear of, "Signature Lumber"? While planning the new house the contractor asked if we wanted signature lumber used. 40 years in heavy construction and I never heard of it. It comes from one company in the deep South, is patented along with it's pink dye. The lumber is guaranteed to be perfectly straight and dry. I said yeah sure why not. Here's a pic of some of it. It sure looked funny when all framed out. PJ

Don't let this guy near your house.

:highly_amused: :encouragement:

I have seen those for years down here. Have been sold as precut lengths for wall studs.

Since the framing is "pink", you don't have to let the wife paint anything pink inside! :congratulatory:

Guaranteed to be straight and dry is great but how is the cost relative to regular stuff?

From boutique suppliers?

Couple cents a foot maybe, but not much different. It came by the semi trailer load along with the rest of the materials for framing and closing in. 5 tractor and trailer loads initially. The beam the guys are breaking their butts getting into position is 4"X14"X24' laminated, quite heavy. They could have used the Co crane, but it was their backs not mine. PJ
