As the question went on the Car-Talk site: WHAT IS THAT GAUGE ON THE RIGHT?
Though one wonders what's with the voltmeter on the left that goes to 40 volts!

Just looks like a volt meter for measuring battery voltage. Not necessary to have such a scale, but maybe that;s just what the person had available and should work.

I figured it was meant to be an ammeter (in disguise).

I do believe someone stuck an ampmeter behind the voltmeter front cover, or vice-versa.
That thing on the right is an old fashioned dial car phone.
Whatreya, new?

LOL Yes, a rotary phone. Now THAT is old.

That thing on the right is so that I can measure zero to 60 in the Midget. I don't actually need the hand with the orange tip

Wait, it's a warrantee meter. When it runs down the warrantee is up.

Not only does one not need a voltmeter that measures to +40 volts, I would really worry if it read -40 volts!

Which is why it's a voltmeter overlay face on an amp meter.
Oh...on warranty...on an LBC, the warranty is five years or five feet, whichever occurs first.

Climate control below those gauges is early to mid-70s GM. It's similar to the one that was in my parents' '73 Buick LeSabre.

Buick. We should have known. :fat:
