Good time to buy some Healey parts from the UK...

Checked the exchange rate this morning: One Pound Sterling = $1.32.

While I don't watch World Markets all that often, I'm thinking it hasn't been this favorable to us USA purchasers since the mid-late 1980s. It was during that time which I placed several large orders of parts, including a lot of structural sheet metal for the restoration of BN6L/942; interestingly enough, I actually had to drive to New Orleans__1-1/2 hrs__to collect that shipment from the US Customs office.

yes, but....i have been sizing up a set of the dunlop d type wheels for a while from realm engineering...7 by 15 boltons for the rear and 5.5 by 15s for the front. as late as last week they had their prices posted on their website. the web site now states....please call for pricing! i suppose after last fridays news there will be much more of that!

Sites like AH-Spares have all of their charges in Pounds. If you use your credit card to make the order you typically get a pretty accurate exchange rate. I know that AH-spares will be getting some more of my dollars soon!

Yep, might be time to buy that Karvel carpet set I've been looking at from John Skinner !!!

I believe you have the option of having prices displayed in Dollars (and more); check for "buttons" in the top-right corner of their pages.

I'm going to have to wait until the "dollar" equals about $0.75 to The Pound before I can get a DW aluminum head...

One report I read today from a usually reliable local currency analyst suggested the Pound could fall by as much as 10%-15% beyond its CURRENT level before the dust settles. Happy hunting!

Yes, and as Donald Trump suggests it is also a good time to see his golf course in Scotland.

Just got an email from Denis Welch Motorsports stating:

"Thursday 23rd June saw the United Kingdom vote to leave the European Union (EU). This result has taken many by surprise and consequently the value of the British Pound vs the Euro, the US Dollar and other currencies has fallen. For customers in Europe, the USA and beyond this means that your money goes up to 11% further* with us this week than it did last. Therefore significant savings are available to customers outside the UK."

3:54 Ring and Pinion, now under $800. If it gets below $750 it might be irresistible.

I am about ready to pull the trigger on their steering box, as mine has had it. Don't tell my wife.

i just talked to adrian at realm engineering regarding current pricing on the bolt on d2 wheels. my car is modified and i am going to go with 6/7 by 15 inch bolt on wheels with round holes. he quoted me a price today of 245 pound sterling per wheel. i did not ask, but will, what might be the freight charges. at any rate it seems like good pricing and the wheels look so right on a healey to me! anyone with experience with realm engineering products?

Had a customer use these on his XKE , very nice wheels, just follow the directions for bolting on the hubs , must be re torqued after a few miles and good to go. Dont forget the cool Dunlop decals for the real deal look ,us the ones from David at Sports Car Art , these fit better and the decal film is curved to fit the wheel contour better.

I recommend a much cheaper visit to the Cotswolds to see not only stunning countryside but a plethora of Classic/Vintage/specialist car companies. I could become a host.

Admittedly the photo is 1947, but you get the idea.
