Coming home last night I experienced the annual splash's of light on the windshield of fire fly's....lots of them. Summer is officially here!!:glee:

Always considered them kind of a treat!

it's 104 degrees here....ugh....summer

Fireflies have been out in Maryland for about two weeks now. I think it's neat when they pass overhead while driving with the top down...looks like a shooting star.

No fireflies in the Pacific Northwest. Don't know exactly why (surely climate), but was amazed when I first saw them on the east coast.

I use to live where they had fire flies and June bugs. I don't miss cleaning them off the front of the car and windshield.

Well, Bill, we do get some of that. Not so bad this year but last year we had a week or two that you had to stop in every town to clean the windshield or you wouldn't have been able to see through it. You should see what my driver looks like when grasshopper time come's!

Kurt.

I remember we had friends visit from California when I was younger. Their family was fairly similar in demographics to ours. Their kids were just blown away by fireflies...they had never seen them before. I've been in Maryland since 1975, and the novelty hasn't worn off at all.
