Ignition / Charging light wiring

I want to hook up my ignition / charging light which is in the bottom of the tacho

I assume I have to take a feed from the voltage regulator ?

Anyone help ?

Correct! If you have the workshop manual, the complete wiring diagram is included in the electrical section.

I've attached the charging light information (BN4/BN6/BT7) from a color copy for you. The white wire from the no charge indicator is connected to the starter switch. (Starter Button).

Hi Duane

Just to clarify...

I assume I need a bulb holder with two wires coming out rather than the type that is grounded to the gauge via the "claw" style fittings that engage it to the aperture on the rear of the gauge and only has one wire

Then if that is the case, one side goes up to the "D" terminal on the voltage regulator and the other goes to the side of the starter button that is energised when the ignition is switched on but goes off once the car is running should the dynamo be charging correctly?
