Bugeye up-date

It's been a little while since I've posted pictures on my progress, so here goes. I now have a roller and its on the ground for the first time in I don't know when! Most of the pictures are self explanatory and the car goes back to the paint shop for final cutting and buffing pretty soon. The eBay door strikers came in and they are really rough, but they do hold the door closed until Rays gets here...the striker picture is on my original which was stripped, cleaned in lacquer thinner, filed to clean up the nicks, and painted with SlipPlate and baked for about 3 hours. I did the same thing to the door latches and they close smooth as budda...I love me some SlipPlate!

Looking good Rut.

Nice!

Re: Bugeye up-date

Some good progress, Rut. I do love that Iris Blue color.

Re: Bugeye up-date

Thanks guys! What's the first thing you do when you have a roller? Roll it out in the driveway, wash it and take pictures! While washing I noticed a few blemishes and some adjustments that need to be taken care of...also have a steering problem, the wheels will not turn left! My wife helped me reinstall the windshield and it took a total of 10 minutes with no cuss words!

Re: Bugeye up-date

Looks great! Did you paint the trim piece above the dash?

It's covered in the same material as the dash...AH Spares sends you enough material to cover the dash, front trim, and both door pockets with a little left over.

Re: Bugeye up-date

I've always felt that turning left was over-rated.

Re: Bugeye up-date

The left turn problem was DCO caused...I left an engine mount loose and it wedged itself just right.
