I'm looking for some hard drive computer motors with 5.5" discs to use as wheels for my valve cover racer. Anyone got a source? I'm going to use this valve cover . I'm seeking sponsorship from Beverly Hills Car Club and Gullwing Motor Cars:

Looks like your going for the rat rod look, sorry no computer parts. I had no idea these creations existed but can't play frivolous games because I'm busy working on the TR under my valve cover.

Do you mean 3.5"? That is the standard hard drive size for the last 20 years or so. Try an E-waste place near you.

I remember my son used stacks of CD-ROMs for wheels on a hydrogen project car model he built in school.
i think he used 2 or three disc per wheel (super glued together) & used wide rubber bands for the tread.

Does that sound something like a valve cover racer?

Ok, I know I've lived a sheltered life, but what the heck is a Valve Cover racer?

When were young in Cub Scouts we built Pinewood Derby cars and if your Dad helped you with it, you were a jerk. When we became dads and you didn't "help " your son with a derby car he was a "loser". Now that we're older, we can build our own **** cars and not care what anyone thinks.

Cool! I could make one with my E-Type valve cover, but I'd need to put 6 wheels on it!

if your life is that sheltered, don't even ask what they race at Jimmy Buffett comcerts!

Outside town a few miles is a tavern on the Wapsi River which has a similisr but not as deluxe lane setup for CATFISH RACES. Winners and losers alike either eat or get eaten. They've also got a quite short 18 hole golf course, before the flood #3 tee was on the roof of a houseboat of sorts. Regular stop in the TR.
Avatar happens to be on the way.

AS you can see it is only the older children in the club that play wid them things.

The youngsters are in awe of what they can do---:chuncky:
