Paris bans cars built before 1997 from driving on weekdays!

They are getting hit with floods now--coincidence?--I think not, probably will be followed by plague and pestilence, what they are doing just isn't right.

Not that surprised. :rolleyes2: PJ

There's an exemption for most classics, but I wouldn't want to drive ~any~ car I owned in Paris. Just finding a parking place is a deterrent. Anyway, the public transportation is so good, there's not much need to drive.

Other European cities have restrictions, e.g. London with their "congestion area" that costs about $15 to enter on weekdays.

When I was stationed in Greece, Athens had a restriction that only odd numbered plates could drive on certain days and even numbered plates on other days.

I think they'll let you drive your old boat. OK, not funny. :apologetic: PJ

I'm not thrilled about taking my cars into Boston, even on the weekend, and I can't imagine our French cousins are dying to get into the City of Light as well.

i'm right with you there. (Even in the smaller world of Columbia SC)
Country drives is what I like.
i don't even like to leave her in parking lots.
to many large & / or thoughtless drivers who can't open their doors without making contact with their neighbors.
