Plus a '75-'80 Bentley manual.
These were,of course,diecast cars MGA/MGB.MG 1100.
These were from Dave's estate ( the Mercedes-
that I posted here earlier).
I'm having a tough time with this,as his ex-wife
got everything ( I don't think they split on good terms).
I'm thinking that she just wants money out of the deal.
On the other hand,I got a good deal, but will probably
hang on to at least one of the diecast cars in his memory.
His ex sold the cars to the local Dodge dealer, who
will sell them as cars, with no emotional connection, for the money.
WHY does this bother me so much?

WHY does this bother me so much?

I'm taking your question as non-rhetorical:

Because you have an unhealthy, emotional relationship with material goods and you're not able to let go of the past. At least that's what I'm guessing a qualified therapist would tell you...

Actually I think the "why does this bother me so much" has to do with the ex and not the stuff. It is always hard when someone is careless with a memory or even with things known to have been precious to someone important to use. Doubly so when (by accident or design) the individual in question (the ex) perhaps isn't the best person to be disposing of this.

OTOH Dave isn't missing it where he is - and at the end of the day - it is all stuff and while mementoes are nice (the die cast car or some tools) the memory is not in the stuff but in our hearts.

I on the other hand do have an unhealthy emotional relationship with material goods - but that is the subject of another thread :jester:
