What engine is this? Pretty sure it is British..tho I do not know what it is. And for Bonus points name the show the screenshot is from.

Another vote for a Jag, but not an EType - either a sedan or possibly one of the XK-XXX series. If I was going to "guess" what show I'd guess Detective Morris.
 
It is certainly a Jag; I think that Bas is right about it being a XK series.
 
Looks to be a 3.4 or 3.8L Jag, not sure what it's mounted in.

I'll take it, too. I lightened the picture & compared it with a shot of my XK-150 FHC and they match perfectly, except for the location of the brake fluid reservoirs & the throttle linkage. (I presume this image is of an RHD car & mine was LHD)
