Maybe Clarkson can fill the NBC anchor chair while Brian Williams stars in Top Gear.

It will be interesting to see how the new Top Gear will do. I know the American version is so bad as to be nearly unwatchable for more than a couple of minutes at a time. The formula seemed to have been getting played out and only the personalities of Clarkson, May and Hammond kept show entertaining. How many times can you watch people in clunkers in a remote part of the world and throw whatever curve balls the producers see fit at them? Unless you have people who can keep that overplayed formula fresh, the show won't last very long.
 
I really don't like the American version of TG either. I wonder if there will be a new formula.

...and thank goodness for that. The American version of Top Gear just never worked. If you don't have the chemistry, the overly contrived scenarios just fall flat. That's what made TG a success with Clarkson, Hammond and May. Yes, we knew that a good chunk of it was B.S., but they pulled it off so well.

LeBlanc, from what I recall was consistently the winner in the "Stars in a Reasonably Priced Car" challenge.
 
Yes, Leblanc was the fastest ever Star in a Reasonably Price Car.

I like Leblanc and he is a car guy. But putting an American in the presenter's seat might be either a pretty bold move to really mix things up or a pretty lame attempt to "broaden audience appeal."

Not like having an American play James Bond. But still...
 
Doesn't matter. Too much time between new and redundant. I've lost interest. And so has most everyone else I know.
