How My Sprite Got Me Through A Blizzard...

Last winter we got whacked with storm after storm and EVERY storm my old snowblower broke. So every storm I have to fix it AND move the snow. :censored:. Most of the parts came from my local dealer or next day via currier. One storm was too big and too bad. That's when my drive cable broke. Previous storm I replaced my drive-wheel which no doubt contributed to the cable's demise. So I'm standing there in the garage looking for a cable... Or a spring (or a gun). Holding the busted spring in my hand it reminded me of a certain spring that I've seen before. Specifically it looked a bit like one of the springs from a Sprite rear drum brake. All I had to do was slide the Sprite spring down the cable where it came to rest on top of the busted piece. It made the cable longer, but I was able to take up the adjustment on the other end of the cable. I was right back in the battle with the blizzard! And that's how my Sprite got me through a Blizzard...

It is amazing how many times I've dipped into the Sprite's parts bin to help fix something that is completely unrelated to the car. I think mechanical improvisation is one of those things you pick up in being an LBC owner.

Indeed and their simplicity helps too. Parts aren't quite interchangeable but often close enough.
