Plexiglass

My Sunbeam Alpine hardtop has a plexiglass rear window. It is in good condition, no major scratches, but it is very opaque. Can't really see out of it. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to polish it to make it more clear. Don't really want to spend $150 to replace it.
