Wiper motor rubber mounts

Any one have any secret tips on how to install the 3 rubber mounts in the plate that the wiper motor bolts to? They seem much harder than the original. I can't insert them in the plate holes. Tried dish soap. No luck. Any suggestions?

As a last resort, you could cut them in half at the recess and stack them on either side of the plate. Compression should be enough to keep them in place.

Did you try warming them? A blow dryer rather than a heat gun. Also, I use KY gel. Don't laugh. It's water based. It evaporates and doesn't hurt rubber. I ask the wife to buy it for me. Nothing emarasses her anymore.

You should keep that in the glove box in case you need it "out in the field"

Agreed , save the thumbs and cut em . I wont tell and you wont see it from my place .

I confess, I finally gave up and cut them. Couldn't tell once installed. Probably overkill, but I used contact cement to glue the halves to both sides of the mounting plate. I think the normal compression of the screws would have been enough to keep them in.

I am disappointed the supplier did not test them first to see how difficult they were to install. I think they used too hard a compound to make them, something like they make the sway bar rubber grommets. The originals wiper motor grommets were much softer and certainly could be inserted in the holes.
I will notify the supplier of the issue and hope they will improve the next batch.
