I think the number you are looking at is a designation number. It should read 2042AAS. I'm pretty sure it indicates what application it applies to. The 2042 series was standard on the 1952 to 1957 Ford cars with a 223 engine and standard on the 1956 and 57 trucks with the 223 engine. They were used on many cars, Ford Falcon, Nash Rambler etc, just jetted different and with automatic transmission cars they had a dash pot added. It is still a 1904 model and it should also have a glass bowl, unless it has been changed over the years. The glass bowls are easy to break. Be careful, I don't think they are available new.
