Like most of us I've tried many products -- in my case looking for that holy grail of little effort for good-looking long-lasting results.
For the past year I have been using
Turtle Wax Ice.
I like it because it goes on and comes off very easily, leaves a great shine, can be used on chrome & rubber as well as paint and does not leave a white residue in the cracks and crevices.
They claim it can be applied in direct sunlight -- maybe a useful feature in some climes but no one in Arizona does anything in direct sunlight.
It says it repels dirt -- On a recent 1200 mile tour we killed a lot of bugs and they left their guts all over the finish of the car. The remains washed off quite easily w/o resorting to bug remover or harsh methods. The beading also seems to hold up thru many washes.
I suspect that Ice would not be a good product for a finish that needs help, i.e. I would say it is more of a finisher than a restorer of shine -- but for many of our cars it should work well.
If you enjoy a good work out and feel that the hours spent waxing your car help you bond with it -- then this isn't for you. You'll be done before you have any chance to bond and you probably won't break a sweat either. But if you are a bit lazy about such things and looking to get the job done with the least fuss then this may be the stuff for you.
