TR2/3/3A Tush - TR3a louvres or not? Color picked out yet?

Hi Simpson,

Yes  Incognito though.....

I come here to get my TR3A fix!

Skip....been under the weather for the past couple of weeks unfortunately and lost precious time on the car. Haven't touched it to work on it since then. Unfortunately, I did have to break down and clean up one side of the garage in order to bring the TR6 home so the frame is back under the body etc.

Makes it a little harder to work on the 3 when I have to move the 6 out of the garage and move the chassis out from under the body....

So long story short, nope, no decision on the louvres/color as of yet.....

Cheers,
Tush

Hope you get back to normal, Tush. I did notice that you weren't around here or "there" all that much lately. I thought maybe you were off watching baseball somewhere.

Hey PB

Thanks....I am very glad baseball is back though! I hope to get the 6 out of storage this week. Bought a hard top for it today so I am sure that at some point I will have to start a long thread about fitting it!

When do you expect yours to be back up and running PB? Must be going through withdrawals....

Cheers,
Tush

I am having a hard time dealing with it.
Last I heard the damper was shipped back to me last Monday.
It only took 3 days to get there, so hopefully any day now I'll have it here..
Glad you found a hard top. Hope to see it this coming September..

Ok,

A couple of answers (for now anyway/subject to change).

I did purchase some louvres and they are on the way to me. I purchased an angled set of 11's. Will see how they look when I get them.

Today I bought some paint. In another thread, I showed that I was working on cleaning the bottom of the car up. I need to finish up some welding before I actually paint the bottom of the car, but at least I am prepared!

So, for the bottom I decided to try something a little different (for me). I have used lots of POR products in the past but have never used their Whitecoat product. I picked some up today and will be painting the bottom of the car with it and will see how it turns out. So...If I am painting the bottom white....I have decided to go with a Spa White (or similar) with a black racing stripe. If I like the Whitecoat on the bottom, I am probably also going to do the passenger compartment as well.

Thats all for now.

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

David-

If you get chance, can you post where you picked up your louvers?

I've found a local speed shop here in Houston, and will probably louver up a spare hood I have as they have the equipment. Looks like it will be around $100 for 20 louvers put in the hood.

Cheaper and most important is it better to install them than have them cut?

Hi Don,

Been doing alot of cutting and patching and welding on my car. I figured that if I wanted to add the louvres I could do it myself without too much trouble.

I am going to put the purchased panels up against the hood and stare at them for a few days before I decide to cut anything though....

If I don't like em, then they won't go in and I wasted 30 bucks...do you need a set for your 8?

Cheers,
Tush

Thats the intent

From my understanding, you can do it that way or you could have a whole panel/bonnet pressed if you could find someone to do it. The link I posted shows some pretty large panels done.

A couple of weeks ago, on musclecar tv, they welded in some louvre panels on the front wings of a cuda.

Cheers,
Tush
