Hello All,
On November 8 2012, Duncan and Sheila Wood lost their Texas home to fire. I am very grateful to report that both Duncan and Sheila escaped with no physical injuries.
For those of you who know Duncan and Sheila, you will also know that they owned an astounding Triumph Gloria Southern Cross that just received 398 points in judging at VTR National in Houston not 3 weeks ago in October 2012, along with a just as astounding Triumph Stag. Both of these concours winning, VTR Gold Certificate vehicles were also lost in the fire, including a 1980 Dolomite that the Woods had just purchased from the UK.
Fortunately the Woods are members of one of the best Triumph Clubs anywhere, the Red River Triumph Club in Texas.
The members of RRTC assembled en masse to assist Duncan and Sheila in recovering what could be recovered and to help get them set up in new living quarters while the Woods home is being restored. This is the true worth of a club, the people and camaraderie, and I would like to commend the RRTC for their outstanding response to this tragedy.
Also, any of you who know Duncan and Sheila know that they are extremely unselfish and generous good friends willing to provide maximum help at any turn, Duncan and Sheila were key participants in the success of the Triumph Trans AmeriCan Charity drive 2009 which subject was of course to promote awareness for the effects of PTSD from traumatic events.
I am not sure what I can do for a couple who have given me so much in friendship, Triumph camaraderie and assistance for the TTA cause, so for the time being I will offer my heartfelt best wishes for a speedy return to restoration of normalcy.
To Duncan and Sheila, my sincere sympathies for your losses and if there is anything you need, we are here to lend any assistance we can.
To the RRTC members, my thanks for being there for Duncan and Sheila, if there is anything you know Duncan and Sheila need, or have ideas on how we can help, just name it.
Sincerest and Warmest Regards,
Glenn Merrell, TSN Admin
