I had an elusive front end shimmy for some time, and tried most everything to alleviate it.
Rebuilt Front suspension with axle spacing kit, rebuilt steering Rack with new rack bushes, new Steering Column Bushes from rack to wheel with new felt securing the column, balanced wheels and shaved tires, etc.
Turns out that the workshop manual for the 4/4A has incorrect instructions for installing the lower trunnion bolt....I knew the 4A has the TR250- TR6 front suspension, but was not aware that the trunnion bolt should be torqued to 50-65 lbs.
After torquing the shimmy is 95% gone, and its a pleasure to cruise on the highway again!
