To all who say a Triumph isn't practical...

A bit of humor and truth all at once. I get ribbed about having a Triumph as my only car. Well, only running car. I do have 2 chrome bumper MGBs...

Anyway, I find my 1978 Spitfire very practical. Let's look at some facts: I can do all the work on it, saving me money. Insurance is wicked cheap. I get 23-28mpg per tank (no overdrive). Frustrating? Sometimes, but rewarding more often than not. Also, I only have a passenger I want to be with me, no interlopers. If it's a group thing, I never have to take my car. You can really carry most anything in these cars, especially with the top down. My dog is happy as can be in it, even going to the vet. No car payment.

I guess I'll let the pics speak for themselves. I just finished moving and a majority of items were moved via Spitfire. I mean, just zip the rear window out...

Or keep the top down...

Thought a little humor would be good for a Monday!

I agree they can be practical. No this is not my idea of a continental kit. My F150 was in the shop again and when I went to use my Toyota 4x4 it had a flat. Since I didn't want to crawl under the pickup bed to get to the spare I threw the flat on the luggage rack and went to get it fixed.

Since fixing the brakes in my Mum's Spit I've been driving it exclusively for the past couple weeks. I was loving the $10 gas station visits. 100 miles ~= 3 gallons of gas.

My 79 1500 is in resto (as is my 74 MGB) But my MG was my daily driver for ten years. Can't wait to see how the Spit does in that role.
And they are not really practical..but so what
