Sprite horn brush - which way?

This might be obvious when I actually try to install it, but thought I'd ask here first.

Which end of the brush goes in the hole?

I think it's long end down. However, you don't need to take my word for it. Go to YouTube and search for John Twist's (University Motors') videos. There's one on removing the steering wheel and I remember he specifically mentions which end of the spring loaded horn brush goes down.

I'm pretty sure the long end goes through to the slip ring so it can wear, the other butts up against the horn push. I get to deal with this next as I need to shorten the brush for my custom wheel. BTW don't play with the brush too much, if you push it in, the spring compresses and the short end slides out, gets hung up going back in sometimes, stresses the wire that connects the two, it breaks and you get to fix it. As me how I know this? (I had to rip it apart to shorten anyway so I don't think it hurt me too bad)
BTW how long is that brush overall?

I agree. I tried the other way around and it was not reliable. I found that when installed correctly, having the spring end against the circular ring of the plastic bezel lets it ride over imperfections in the metal and still make good contact.

I measured it this morning before I left for work and found that it was 2 3/8 inches from tip to tip.

I just today shortened the one I had (for an after market wheel) but I over corrected and made it too short, add to add some back in. It works though.
