I'm almost done. The 59 TR-3A is on the road. The last project is the restoration of the side curtains. They are the after market version that were with the car when I bought it in 1963. Since they fit nicely I though I'd go ahead and try to whip them back in shape rather than sink a grand in new ones. There are plenty of threads dealing with the restoration of the standard side curtains, but I couldn't find much on these in the forum.
The soft flaps on the bottom are still in decent shape. The aluminum frames are buffing up nicely as you can see in the photo. The problem now is finding a source for the rubber trim / seal that slides into the slot in the top and back of the frame. Anyone have an idea where I might find a source for this rubber trim?
I'm also replacing the plexiglass and felt that fits in the grooves for the windows. I think I saw some of that listed on TRF, but it was super expensive. I could probably make my own from scratch, but if anyone has some thoughts on that I'd appreciate it.
