Sad day -- packed away for the winter

Yes, it's that time of year again. Given my schedule over the next couple of weeks, I made the decision to put the MGB and BMW away for the winter. Spent yesterday changing oil and doing some other services, and today I ferried them both over to my storage unit.

Everything's nice and tidy for the long winter. They'll come back out in March or so and we'll be driving again.

It was a good (and eventful) season that saw the Tunebug head on to a new home and the MGB come here. Here's to a quiet winter and another good driving season next year.

Drew;
That is not the license plate that was on that car, last time I saw it. It looks good, and has a great home. I sure the tunebug is well cared for too. This is now the wishing, waiting season that makes us all enjoy our cars in the spring.

Its not so bad putting the LBC into
a nice WARM Cabinet, keeps it nice.

Did you remember to add stable to the
fuel tank? Or did you drain the fuel
in both the MGB and BMW?

I have a friend that stores all his
Porches in a hermetically sealed warehouse
when he puts his cars away, but he can afford that.

Did you put the "Bounce" sheets in the car to keep the mice away?

These are 1970 UT plates, fit the car nicely. It's been a great car, put a lot of good miles on it this year.

Stabil in the fuel tank for the MGB (and a full tank), drained the bike -- bike may be in storage for a while so best to drain it out completely. No Bounce sheets in the B, but I do need to go back and block up the tail pipes on both.

Not warm, though, as this is an unheated storage unit. Dry and secure, that's the best I can do for now.

Poor Tunebug :cryin:
Tunebug has a good new home (heated garage, no less).

Good to read.
Stabil works good.

Yeah, my white MGB will see less and less usage in the next few weeks; then it'll "Winter-over" in our semi-warm two car garage while I drive the Miata.

Speaking of this, I was stopped getting gas just outside Watkins Glen yesterday on my tow back from the races. A guy came up to me to look at the Spridget and he was in a black rubber-bumper MGB (top down). Told me he was probably taking one of his last rides of the season and his B would be put away for their long Winter soon (and he would be driving his Z4 instead). Nice guy; he was about my age and had been going to The Glen all his life. His son has a TR6. Gave him my card and if he e-mails me, I'll direct him here.

I guess there's a lot of us with classic cars that are put away for the Winter.

After our long and miserable hot summer our driving season is just starting down South. This ex-Ohio transplant never regrets his decision to move here either.....!!
