I apologize, I don't write much in the MG forum. Maybe that's because I don't actually have an MG, but there is a reason.
Turns out that after leaving my mother "stranded" in Washington DC area while I go out on my own searching fortune and fame in foreign lands, I have come upon the realization that, especially in the Washington DC area, repair shops just don't do rust repair.
Here in the north rust repair is an integral part of regular maintenance on a vehicle. Every shop does it. Many shops specialize in it.
Now that my mother has a bit of rust in her Range Rover, she can't find anyone willing to touch it. All the body shops want to do is collision repair.
That however isn't the reason for writing on the MG forum. My mother has a friend, who has been driving her MGB for the last 40 years. It needs a bit of rust repair. Now I'm starting to realize that it isn't just me, but maybe there are a number of people who want to keep their old British iron and have someone weld up a bit of rust.
Does anyone know if there is a shop or person anywhere within 100 miles of WDC whom is willing to do some quality work? (As opposed to covering it with brillo pads, aluminium sheet, pop-rivits and bondo)
Thanks. Donn.
