I'm back from my visit to Puerto Rico.

I couldn't believe my luck: at Hertz they had no compacts left, so upgraded me to THIS!

So I guess Dale put it back together and is driving it?

Dale, if your listening, don't worry about all the "overkill" statements in regard to your filtering preference. Do what you need to in order to keep driving Amos.

Julian, now you have an idea of what to look forward to with your own TR6.

Russ,

The red roll bar gives it away, without a doubt. The question is, now that it's running and the boat is running, where is Dale?

Where`s Dale at?????

We`d all like to know!

Julian had salmon with gorgonzola sauce, the Mrs had a fancy,
very rare steak with gongonzola penne on the side, yours truly
had linguini with whole clams in a splendid white sauce.

And yes Tony/Banjo, a tableful of eyecandy was indeed present.

Edit: BTW- The Mrs and Julian come from the same general Yorkshire
area of northern England.

Great to see Amos out and about. Is the car OK now? I never doubted you would manage it for a moment Dale!

Dale has again proven he has no aptitude for
auto restoration or auto mechanics. Dale has returned his attention
back to familiar, expert status, skill-sets.

It was an exciting moment for me as Dale roared up in his bright red TR6 to the Holiday Inn forecourt, where I was waiting. I hopped in, and Dale gunned Amos away. As we sped down the freeway there were honks and pips from other vehicles as they signalled their appreciation of Dale's fine red sports car.

It went like a bomb: I was very impressed.

I admired Dale's balls, his "huevos", for bringing Amos out so shortly after his major problem with it.

We stopped at a biker bar on the coast, where the above photo was taken. Then it was off to Dale's rain-forest-surrounded house, a glass of wine with Wendy, and then a delicious Venetian-style meal in old San Juan, at the traditional BCF restaurant.

Here's Dale looking suitably pleased with Amos:

My thanks to Dale and Wendy for their hospitality!

I have the same cover Don. I put it on between drives to keep the dust off. I have a feeling that it's only waiting for it's intrepid owner to return from the docks and remove the cover to once again, be flying down to the biker bar......

Ray,

The roll bar is a lift out option, if I remember Dale's original post regarding it.

No one really believes that Dale is gonna let that shiny red paint get dirty and dusty while he cuts tile out back.

Don- a small white lie Julian and I cooked up
for everyone's amusement.

Both my TR and boat have been stone cold dead these past three
weeks. The boat has been in and out of several professional repair
shops while I installed the high performance stuff
myself. Friday afternoon the boat was ready for a test run
on Sunday.

Meanwhile, I was also busting my hump trying to come up with
at least some temporary repairs to the Crypt Car that would
bring the Beast to marginal operational status so Julian could
take a spin while on-island.

I was to pick Julian up at 6:00 PM Saturday evening.
At 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon the car was back together but
with one test mile having been accomplished without a breakdown.

I put my faith in my own repair work and headed out to pick up
Julian in the Crypt Car and make the beach highway run.
Just about 70 new miles clocked without breakdown on
my temporary repairs. White knuckles, waiting for the
inevitable breakdown every minute I drove.

The car is now garage parked until such future time as I can
afford to make proper repairs. So it not broke down but it's
not really reliably operational either.

Julian and I hope all enjoyed a our little scam!!

I'll be enjoying my high performance tarpon boat and fishing
while the Crypt Car sleeps waiting for properly funded parts
and repairs. An auto mechanic I am NOT. But I can tarpon fish
with the Pros.
