I don't know if I should join or not. My car is currently powder blue, but it was originally black and the current plan is that it will be going back to black someday...

Ironically, they pick on the non-existent "Geranium red club"... Being included in the Photo of Johns Powder blue, I guess I'm the "mole" owner of the Geranium car. I'll agree with the PB club. It would take guts to even admit to owning one, much less forming a club. It's very unlikely mine will retain its original Geranium color through its restoration.. It really is a strange color. Kinda reminiscent of Tomato soup made with milk.
Maybe I'll paint it powder blue! hehehehe.

In 1966 I had a powder blue 1960 TR3A with the blue leather interior and two painted white racing stripes over the driver"s side. Does that count? I seem to remember more British cars with racing stipes in the 1960's and I really thought it looked cool at least on my car. Not a chance that I would put them on the TR3B that I have now. I guess that is not a part of my youth that I am trying to recapture!!!

I'd join but my car would feel uncomfortable surrounded by all those nice looking (and running) cars.

I found out mine was originally silverstone grey, but powder blue looks right to me.

"Real men like powder blue TR3's."

We don't get too technical on what the original colour was. Every sidescreen car now Powder Blue is welcome to join.

Banjo we've also got a 1954 Geranium TR2, TS3849, which until recently was one owner from new, but sadly its custodian passed away on March 18 at age 93. It was ordered in the UK in 1953 as a red car, but Jeff didn't realise he should specify Signal Red, so they slipped him Geranium reckoning Oz was too far away for its return. In its heyday it used to tow a caravan down the coast on annual family holidays, which must have caused a few people to blink in disbelief.

Yes, that counts. Here is Cornell "Bud" Babcock's TR3 vintage racecar. The stripe is down the center on his. I like it. It is a beautiful car; a racecar that could be a show car.

Ben, since you associated with me on this ride, you can be an Associate Member. Paint that '2 Powder Blue and you can have full membership!

I can't say anything. I drive a 12 ft long banana that's named after a drink with champagne and orange juice in it.

Frank, did you get rose coloured glasses for Xmas ?

Our Geranium car was resprayed more of a Coral Pink in 1988, but I'd still need to down a full bottle of hooch before it started to look vaguely attractive !!!

Ciao,

Wow! No wonder I've never seen a Geranium car in person. Mine is hidden under several layers of white, black, white, and finally red.
But, ya know.... That would be a fun color just for the "what the!" effect.
Mine had a black interior originally.
I remember the first TR3 I ever saw. I was in grade school, and one of the teachers had a, You guessed it, Powder Blue TR3 that would park right by where the busses let out. I always loved that car.
Come to find out It belonged to Linda McKee. She and her husband are in the local sports car club that I joined, and that very car was the other powder blue TR3 that joined us on the Tour De Marque that day in 2008.
Small world eh?
So That light blue had always had a special spot for me. It's not out of the question, but I don't think It was an option on early TR2s.
