Doesn't look very "retro" to me. Looks more like a modern high end radio with some old style chrome knobs accidentally stuck on.

It seems expensive but then it probably will be a smaller market than other radios. If I understand right it needs a stand alone CD player to play CD's.
I do like the part where it can be completely hidden and controlled by the remote.

I have the original radio that was in my car and it still works, that is if I cared enough to put it back in the car. Been out for more than a year now.

Looks like a modern afterthought. Knobs do not a radio make.
Why not buy a rebuilt radio of of ebay. I've had great luck with old Beckers etc and they sound great, gotta love the hum of the old tubes warming up.

I thought the goal of this radio was not so much to look retro, but rather to fit the retro design of the dash ie so you don't have to alter the dash support column.

My thoughts were:
Not original but should have good sound
Very compact size might fit into the existing dash support of my 4a wich has my old cassette am fm unit
No Cd ; no room for them which is understandable
Got an Ipod nano for my birthday which would solve cd issue
Tired of listening to my 20+ year old tapes (yes Tapes)

I don't want to sound too negative about your potential investment. However, since we almost always have the top down/off, we have never been able to enjoy radio or CD sound in one of the TR's (whilst in motion). Even with the surrey hard top on, the TR250 sounds like the inside of a drum. However, when we do go for a run with the intention of stopping for a little picnic I usually bring along a small portable boom-box.

I installed this in my TR6 last winter, it has the retro look with modern features. The dial is for show/no go and it has a back outlet (with plug) for a MP3 which sits in the glove box. It fit the stock opening.

I installed one of these in my tr6. No alterations to the original cutout and holes.Fits perfect and radio gets good reception. I like the Ipod playing feature.
