I spent the day cleaning and inspecting it and going through the wiring. I decided to get her running and so, ITS ALIVE! Good news is that the motor seems to run great, I thought it had no clutch but I was wrong it actually has a full pedal. Now for the bad news. I can't get it to go in reverse. I put some brake fluid in the master and managed to get a hint of brakes so I decided to run it up and down my drive. I have never had a 1500 before. Where is reverse supposed to be? I tried all the usual places and I only have the 4 forward gears.
Pictures.
The good side of the car. Its in real good shape just needs some decent paint.
The engine bay. The engine looks and sounds good and everything is there, only some slight surface rust a few places
Drivers side floor pan, no holes but the seat holes, just some surface rust (still junk and dirt in there right now)
Trunk, good shape no rust that I can see(better than my 71 was)
Passenger floor pan much like the driver side
driver lower hinge, looks good in there.
passenger lower hinge, only light rust (still solid)
Underside looks better than I had hoped
The bad part that needs to be fixed (car came with a new sill for this to be welded in)
Unbelievable the previous owner used plastic tubing for the clutch line
This line actually works and has a good pedal but look where they ran it??????????????? Down through a rusted hole in the battery box
Another shot of the engine (not too shabby)
A poor picture but the dash is in real good shape in this car.
