New classic mini guy coming next week

I have just sold my TR6, and will be joining you guys over here on the Mini forum when I get it home about May 8-9 . I bought it in Oklahoma and am going to do something maybe insane. I am flying from Charleston SC to Oklahoma to pick it up and will drive it home 1200 miles.It is a 1973 British Leyland Mini , 998cc, full sunroof, LHD, Minilites etc,. with 54,000 miles that seems to have been kept up well by it's enthusist owner. 1200 MILES, I AM PROBABLY INSANE. I will post pictures IF I make it home in one piece. Here is a teaser photo of the dash board.

Hey Roofman;

I could tell you stories about this kind of adventure, but I won't bore you.
I own a 64 El Camino, purchased in LA (Anahiem actually), and drove it across America in 5 days to get home. Wow!!!!! what a trip. One of the neatest things I've ever done.

Followed that with a Miata bought in St Louis and did the same.

Good luck, and enjoy the trip. (Secret is, take lots of pictures, and don't rush)

You may be right, I havn't seen this on a regilar mini. Whether or not stock, it's staying.

This is the stuff adventures are made of. Reminds me of some of mine.
K.C to Loveland Colorado in a 28 Ford "Speedster" with a Ford flathead V8 in it.
3 trips, Same route in my '33 Ford
1 trip, same route in my 31 Model A pickup.
1 trip each in a 65 Spitfire and a 71 MGB roadster.
And many others.
On an additional happy note my "new" 72 Mini 850 is emerging from its container from New Zealand TODAY!!

The blue Mini is elevated to get it above the yellow Mini that is in front of it. It is a 20' container. It is not actually 20' inside. Tow 10' Minis won't fit nose to nose. First Mini is backed in then the framework built an the second Mini put in. Since it comes from New Zealand, The wood has to have been inspected (No Bugs!)and approved. Quite a process.
