TR2/3/3A Need help with tr3 project

Recently I rescued an abused 56 tr3, produced mid year, front drum brakes. It needs everything. Can anyone recommend a video or detailed literature on floor and sills replacement. I am a hands on person with much to learn about this car. Was able to find a few decent used fenders but the guy insist the tr3-3A-3B fenders are slightly different, cannot interchange, is that so? Help is appreciated, trying to keep-um on the road.

Brown,
you will be able to use 3A&B fenders. Others will chrime in soon on literature and video. I have a lot of parts for TRs if you need something. My sheetmetal inventory is limited but have lots of the other parts.

Brown...there is a great shop in Bally Pa, near Reading, named appropriately Triumph Rescue, and they have a website. They do sell parts, and are happy to give advice and share experiences. They also schedule periodic tech sessions on various topics. Very friendly group that is a good resource. Mac

Welcome to the frat. I found very helpful a book available on Amazon titled "how to restore TR2,3 automobiles" (Forgot the exact title). Good advice on what to and not to do in the disassembly.

BobThe book is ISBN 10:1903706157. You should be able to find one for less that the $187.00 I just saw on Amazon(!) but would be worth the money anyhow.

There is an auto restoration shop in Michigan called "Eclectic Motorworks" that has restored several TRs, and they post really good photo-documentation of their work. Here is the link to the site. They did sills, floors, doglegs, etc on a TR2 that looked similar to what you may be looking at. Look for Previous Work - TR2 restoration - sill restoration/floor restoration. I am pretty sure they do it the right way.

Thanks to all. I've seen what happens when floors are welded in without thought. This is a long term project, takes time to do it right.

Lol thanks! They might help a little bit here and there but most of them are just me blabbing....

But seriously Brown, when you get ready to tackle a particular area, ask specific questions (and do a quick search of the old threads) and there are a ton of guys who will jump in to answer questions or provide feedback etc. Take lots of digital pictures and learn how to post pictures here....it helps us all to visualize a little better.

Ps. I will be doing floors, inner and outer sills on my 59 in the not too distant future but probably not soon enough to take more pics and video to assist you...I will do it though for the future.
