Just noticed this post. Am I the Mark in Question? I do have an Alfa engine in an old sports racer that I am restoring and prepping for vintage racing. It is a 1600, the car should have a 1300 so I have been looking for one.

Actually I am a little embarrassed about posting that picture. I have mentioned the car before and posted pictures of it. I am disappointed over how little I have actually accomplished in its restoration.

The car is called a Gemini, at least that's what the title says. It looks to be have been built in the early to mid 50's. The body is aluminum, most of the suspension parts front and rear uprights, A arms and transverse leave springs looks to have come from or based on a Cooper F3. I really don't have any history on it. I purchased the car in 1969 as a derelict, got it going and autox and hillclimbed it for years until it started to come apart and need restoration. I have to admit I abused the car quite a bit. I modified some brake drums from a Datsun 210 put some Formula V tires on TR4 rims and ran the crap out of it. The sticky tires hastened the demise of numerous suspension parts and the chassis. Quick little thing though. The guys in the MG forum were able to identify some of the bits for me which helped a great deal in ordering new parts; brake cylinders, tie rod ends, etc. Seems to be some TD stuff in there, the half shafts are cut down and modified TD drive lines. I have a bunch of pictures posted here

Mark,

As you may know, there were a good number of so-called "H-mod" racers and some larger specials (frequently Devins) that looked similar to your car. I race with several Devins that appear as scaled-up versions of you car.

You might want to contact Cliff Reuter at ~Etceterini~. He may have some ideas about your car.

A friend of mine ownes and races this ALFA-powered "Ermini", which somewhat reminds me of your car.

Thanks Nial, that is a neat website. There is just something very special about the looks of 50's and 60's race cars, very graceful. Never heard of an Ermini, nice looking car.

Sorry for the hijack guys.
