Hi All,

Drone Dog:
The level of fluid toughes the bottom of the dip stick and which brings it up to but just under the OD trans-shaft/
O-ring. The fluid deficit, I think, is a little under 1 qt. 2+qts. remaining in the Trans/OD.

Bob (British Recovery):
Thank you for the O-ring installation clarification. When removing the Solenoid housing plate, after all installed components in the housing, you indicate the even removal of the 4 long bolts. Will the heavy released spring remain in place for the reinstallation of the plate or will it need to be repositioned to a specific location onto the plate?

Thank you for the clarification and offer of the square O-rings. I have sent a PM. Also, I viewed the video you posted and understand why the level of the trans/OD fluid should be high enough to lubricate when the unit is in dynamic use. I believe that the O-ring may not have leaked during use but when the car was at rest when O-ring was definitely below the fluid level. This conclusion became even more viable and understandable when viewing the video and seeing the fluid flow and level when at rest and during active use.

When you remove the side cover, take the nuts off first, then undo the long bolts evenly, a little at a time. This will relieve the spring tension. There is a lug on the backside of the cover that locates the spring. There might be a washer between the spring and the cover as well. On reassembly, a second set of eyes and hands will be helpful to get the spring onto the lug before tightening the long bolts. You can move the spring outward to meet the cover.
