Interesting! I never knew about these either.

But I'd prefer this:

I've never seen an A30 Pickup before, only pictures... Apparently a few of them came here to Canada in the 1950's for dealership use, like running parts around, etc... LHD of course...

There may still be some up here but I haven't personally seen one...

I'm trying to picture this in the context of the times...but it's still not a pretty conversion. I'm not a huge fan of the El Camino / Ranchero types, but I found that the El Camino almost always had nicer lines than their Ford counterpart.

I tend to agree - though the 67 Fairlane Ranchero & the Falcon based ones were both pretty cool

I remember seeing one,brand new,on a dealer's lot,
up in WashingtonAs I like Fairmonts,I thought that it was cool.
The one I want is a Falcon ute, built by Ford,in Australia.
They had two of them at Ford's 100th celebration,in Dearborn,in 2003.

Are you a doctor? No but I just spent the night at Holiday Inn Express.

Are you a doctor? No but I did just buy an MG Midget :jester:

Buying a Midget definitely makes you smarter - at least that is what I tell Mrs JP - of course she thinks the exact opposite. :p

yes she is! Though we have this constant conversation about who is smarter - I maintain I am because I married her, but she married me - game, set match. :D

In my household the evidence that I'm smarter because I married her always wins the debate. :encouragement:

I bought on of these in 73, which I also liked the style better than the Ford. Mine had a rare option, the drivers seat would swivel facing out once a lock was released. You could walk up to the car, set down and swivel into driving position, it would automatically lock. Don't know why it came through that way, as I didn't order it. I think I only used it twice! PJ

Not mine, but looked just like this one.
