exhaust question

Doing a frame-off and am presently finishing up
the engine,etc. Trying to plug some engine holes !
What's the thought on connecting up the exhaust system prior to putting the body back on.
Anyone have a good source for a dual exhaust system. Know Moss
offers one. This is for a 4a.

Well it sure would be easier to get at, but you may want the weight of the body on the rear end before final tweaking and tightening. Never done a 4A but on the older solid axle cars there can be interference to be addressed (e.g. diff).

Not sure what your priorities are for a good system but for longevity it is hard to argue with stainless steel. The Falcon lifetime guarantee really is lifetime, they replaced mine gratis when a problem developed after 23 years of abuse (er, I mean use).

where can you get this "Falcon" system ?

Indeed it is. I bought the system 'over the counter' from Charles (TRF) at the 1987 TRA. When the main muffler developed a lengthwise split that gave it an annoying buzzing note I called TRF to see what a 'lifetime' guarantee was. I really didn't hold out much hope as 23 years is a long time and it could be said I had gotten my money's worth out of it. But TRF contacted Falcon and they came thru with a replacement. I wuz stunned.

BTW: Taking the stainless system components off after more than 2 decades... it came apart like it was put together last week.

<span style="font-style: italic">PS: If you go to an out-of-state TR event... with your wife along... in a TR3... and you decide to take home a complete exhaust system... that becomes a homeward ride you don't soon forget.</span>
